Module 1: Introduction to Textile Industry

  • Duration: 20 Hours
  • Overview of Indian textile sector History and future trends
  •  Types of textiles: natural, synthetic, blended Importance in the economy and exports Introduction to textile job functions

Module 2: Raw Materials and Fiber Science 30 Hours

  •  Fiber types: cotton, wool, silk, jute, polyester, nylon, etc.
  •  Properties of the fibers and how they affect fabric Spinning and yarn making fundamentals Identification and handling of fibers

Module 3: Yarn Manufacturing and Spinning

  • 40 Hours: Carding, combing, ginning, and spinning process Ring spun, open-end, core spun yarn types Equipment used and routine maintenance Yarn production quality parameters

Module 4: Fabric Manufacturing

  • Time: 50 Hours
  • Weaving and knitting operations
  • Classification of looms: shuttle, rapier, air jet, circular Preparation of warp and weft Testing of fabric and detection of defects Technical textiles and non-woven (overview)

Module 5: Textile Printing and Dyeing

  • Time: 50 Hours
  • Dyeing process: batch dyeing, continuous dyeing, and semi-continuous dyeing Natural dyes and synthetic dyes
  • Printing processes: screen printing, block printing, digital printing Colorfastness and testing in the laboratory Health, safety, and handling chemicals

Module 6: Textile Finishing

  • Time: 30 Hours
  • Types of finish: mechanical, chemical Calendaring, raising, shrinking, coating Softening, wrinkle resistance, waterproofing Finishing machines and quality checks

Module 7: Quality Assurance & Environmental Practices

  • Duration: 30 Hours
  • Quality parameters in yarn, fabric, and garments Testing methods (GSM, tensile strength, shrinkage, etc.) Eco-friendly textile processing Waste management, pollution control

Module 8: Industrial Safety & Soft Skills

  •  Duration: 25 Hours
  •  Health and safety practices PPE usage and emergency handling Teamwork and communication in factories Discipline, hygiene, and ethics in the workplace

Module 9: Entrepreneurship and Career Guidance

  •  Duration: 25 Hours
  •  Basics of opening a textile unit Market understanding and pricing Government schemes for textile MSMEs Resume preparation, interview preparation

   Evaluation & Project Work

  •  Duration: 30 Hours
  •  Theory + Practical SSC-oriented assessment
  •  Practical: make sample woven/knitted/dyed fabric Industry visit/project report submi Certification Upon successful evaluation, candidates receive a Certificate issued by the Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC) as per NSDC guidelines.
